When knee pain and stiffness limit everyday life despite appropriate non-surgical treatment, total knee replacement may help improve comfort and mobility. Your imaging, health and goals are reviewed before travel to Lahore, with an individual plan for surgery, implant selection, physiotherapy and continuing recovery. Feel free to contact us to discuss your case, rehabilitation needs and a personalised quotation.

Now compare it

Ask the private hospital you are considering at home for a written, itemised quote for the same operation. That is the only fair comparison, and we would rather you made it before you commit to anything.

Total Knee Replacement in Lahore

Total knee replacement replaces damaged joint surfaces with artificial components. It may be considered when arthritis-related pain and stiffness significantly affect walking, sleep or daily activities despite appropriate non-surgical care. The aim is to improve comfort and function, with realistic expectations agreed before surgery.

Review Before Travel

Share your knee X-rays, relevant reports, previous treatments, current medicines and medical history for review before travel to Pakistan. The orthopaedic surgeon assesses whether replacement is appropriate and whether further investigations or medical preparation are needed. An in-person examination in Lahore confirms the plan.

Discuss which knee is being treated, the recommended implant, alternatives and your mobility goals. Implant brand, model and any special equipment must be confirmed in the written quotation. Robotic assistance and bilateral or revision surgery are not automatically included.

What to Expect in Lahore

  1. Consultation and preparation: Meet the surgeon, complete the required assessment and discuss anaesthesia, medicines and rehabilitation.

  2. Hospital treatment: The team performs the agreed procedure and supports pain control, wound care and prevention of blood clots.

  3. Early rehabilitation: Begin supported movement and walking as advised by the physiotherapy team. You may initially need a walking frame or crutches.

  4. Discharge planning: Confirm safe transfers, access to the bathroom, any stairs and help with daily activities. Accommodation should suit your mobility needs.

  5. Review and onward care: Agree wound review, any stitch or clip removal, exercise guidance and follow-up with a clinician and physiotherapist after returning home.

Recovery and Rehabilitation

Recovery takes several months or longer and varies between individuals. Physiotherapy and your prescribed exercise programme are important for strength and movement. Pain, swelling and stiffness can continue during recovery. Follow your team's instructions for activity, walking aids, work and driving rather than relying on a fixed timetable.

We help coordinate the care arrangements; physiotherapy sessions, home visits, equipment and nursing support must be individually specified and priced. Hotel accommodation and coordination do not replace hands-on care.

Travel Planning

The estimate below covers an initial 15-day planning period with nine hotel nights and five hospital nights. It is not a complete recovery package or clearance to fly on day 15. Joint replacement and prolonged travel can increase blood-clot risk. The surgeon must assess your route, flight duration and personal risks before a return date is agreed; a substantially longer stay may be needed. Confirm airline and insurance requirements before booking flights.

Risks and Realistic Expectations

Risks include infection, bleeding, blood clots in the leg or lungs, nerve or blood-vessel injury, stiffness, instability and persistent pain. Further surgery may sometimes be needed. Improvement varies and a pain-free knee or specific range of movement cannot be guaranteed.

Seek urgent medical advice for worsening leg pain or swelling, fever or wound discharge. Chest pain or difficulty breathing requires emergency medical attention.

Package Details and Your Quotation

Before booking, request an itemised quotation confirming the knee and operation, implant, surgeon and anaesthetist fees, admission, tests, medicines, clot-prevention treatment, physiotherapy sessions, walking aids and reviews. These details require confirmation rather than being assumed from the headline estimate. Airport transfers cover arrival and departure; local transport covers the agreed consultation and review itinerary.

Extra rehabilitation, extended stays, additional procedures, flights, visas, meals and companion costs are excluded unless expressly included in writing. Longer-term rehabilitation and follow-up should be arranged before travel.

Discuss Your Case

Feel free to contact us to discuss your symptoms, share your reports and request a personalised quotation. We can help you understand the proposed care pathway and practical arrangements before you decide.
