Total hip replacement

When hip pain and stiffness limit walking, sleep or everyday activities despite appropriate non-surgical treatment, total hip replacement may help improve comfort and mobility. Your reports, health and goals are reviewed before travel to Lahore, with an individual plan for implant selection, surgery, rehabilitation and follow-up. Feel free to contact us to discuss your case and request a personalised quotation.

Everything you would pay us, line by line, rather than one package number. Take it to a private hospital at home and ask them for the same list.

Now compare it

Ask the private hospital you are considering at home for a written, itemised quote for the same operation. That is the only fair comparison, and we would rather you made it before you commit to anything.

Total Hip Replacement in Lahore

Total hip replacement replaces damaged parts of the hip joint with artificial components made from materials such as metal, ceramic and plastic. It is commonly considered for arthritis when pain and reduced movement continue to affect daily life despite appropriate non-surgical care. The aim is to improve comfort and function; the likely benefit depends on your condition and recovery.

Detailed Review Before Travel

Share your hip X-rays, relevant reports, previous treatments, current medicines and medical history before travelling to Pakistan. An orthopaedic review helps assess suitability and identify any further investigations or medical preparation. Your in-person consultation in Lahore confirms the diagnosis and proposed operation.

Discuss the side being treated, implant choice, surgical approach and rehabilitation needs. The implant brand, model and fixation method should be specified in the written quotation. This listing is planned around a primary replacement of one hip; bilateral surgery, revision surgery and robotic assistance require a separate assessment and quotation.

What to Expect in Lahore

  1. Consultation and preparation: Meet the surgeon, discuss alternatives and risks, and complete the required medical and anaesthetic assessment.
  2. Hospital treatment: Undergo the agreed procedure with postoperative monitoring, pain management and a plan to reduce blood-clot risk.
  3. Early rehabilitation: Start supported movement and walking as advised. Crutches or a walking frame may be needed initially.
  4. Discharge planning: Confirm that you can manage essential daily activities safely. Review accommodation access, bathroom facilities, stairs and any equipment or help required.
  5. Review and onward care: Agree wound review, any stitch or clip removal, prescribed exercises and follow-up arrangements after returning home.

Recovery and Hip Precautions

Recovery can take several months. Your physiotherapy programme and gradual return to activity help restore strength and movement. Follow the precautions your surgeon gives for your particular operation, including sitting, bending, sleeping and getting into a car. Return to driving, work and exercise requires individual advice.

Discomfort and swelling may occur during early recovery. Arrange practical help with daily activities and confirm the number of physiotherapy sessions, any home visits and walking aids in advance. Coordination and hotel accommodation do not replace nursing or rehabilitation care.

Planning Your Return Journey

The estimate allows an initial 15-day period with nine hotel nights and five hospital nights. These are budget allowances, not a promise of complete recovery or fitness to fly. Surgery and prolonged travel can increase blood-clot risk. Your surgeon must assess your progress, journey length and personal risks before a departure date is agreed; a substantially longer stay may be necessary. Confirm airline and insurance requirements before booking flights.

Risks and Expectations

Risks include infection, bleeding, blood clots, dislocation, a difference in leg length, nerve or blood-vessel injury and persistent symptoms. Implants can wear or loosen and further surgery may be needed. A pain-free outcome or a particular implant lifespan cannot be guaranteed.

Seek urgent medical advice for fever, wound discharge or worsening leg pain or swelling. Chest pain or difficulty breathing requires emergency attention.

Package Details and Your Quotation

This quotation is for unilateral total hip replacement: replacement of one hip only. It does not cover replacement of both hips. Bilateral hip replacement requires a separate assessment and quotation.

Both packages use the existing provisional hospital and surgery allowance of USD 5,898, pending confirmation of the clinical scope and implant. Standard and Premium differ in accommodation and support budgets; Premium coordination is USD 300 for the planned stay.

Request an itemised written quotation confirming one-hip surgery, implant components, surgeon and anaesthetist fees, ward stay, tests, medicines, blood-clot prevention, physiotherapy sessions, equipment and reviews. Do not assume these inclusions from the headline estimate. Airport transfers cover arrival and departure, and local transport covers the agreed consultation and review itinerary.

Additional rehabilitation, extended stays, further treatment, flights, visas, meals and companion costs are excluded unless expressly included in writing. Continuing rehabilitation and follow-up should be arranged before travel.
